Come join the fun at Friendly Horse Acres!
As more people realized what delight the lessons at Friendly Horse Acres had become they wanted to become part of the program. However, the majority were adults who could not make a commitment to come once or twice a week. They felt they would only like to come on occasion, for one day.
Many of these requests came from Laverne and Steveís relationship with the Society of Friends (Quakers). In fact, the Quakers have been willing to offer their assistance to set up the camps.
So everyone is welcome to spend a day at Friendly Horse Acres.
These camps will not be like other horse camps. The focus will not be on riding, but on just being with the horses and ponies. Grooming, leading, patting and some TTEAM TTouches will all be included. Oh, yes, and there will be chores, too. Be prepared to hold a manure fork, and to help with the daily feedings.
Families are encouraged to come together, especially the parents of horse-crazy children who want to get a taste of what it means to take care of a horse or pony. Also, it will give nervous adults a chance to enter their childrenís world in a non-threatening way. The Miniature Horses can help give everyone confidence. For those who want a challenge, there are the Exmoor Ponies.
People who donít want to become part of handling the horses can enjoy a day at a horse farm, just sitting, strolling; watching the activities.
Please note: a participating adult must accompany all children.
